Anita Sengupta, Aerospace Engineer
"I specifically like to take on challenging problems because I like to be pushed beyond my comfort level." Rocket Scientist and Aerospace Engineer Dr. Anita Sengupta helped land a rover on Mars eight years ago on. August 5, 2012. She was the lead engineer of the team that developed the parachute system that helped land the Curiosity Rover. For the last 20 years she has developed technologies for exploring mars, asteroids and deep space. She is currently developing an emission free VTOL aircraft, as she believes “high-tech solutions to transportation, can reduce our carbon foot print and combat climate change.” She also currently teaches at USC and advocates for STEM education.
